When Positivity Becomes a Pressure
Happiness is a choice
Hi lovely souls,
Life is not only about high, happy, glorified moments. And yet, I feel in today’s time, positivity itself has become the biggest stressor.
We are constantly told to “stay positive” and “be happy.” But I often ask myself : how is that even possible all the time?
Can we really discard our low moments when they are already alive in us? Can we lie to ourselves about what we feel? Deep inside, we all know the answer — that’s just not possible.
To me, happiness is not the absence of low moments. Happiness is a choice we can still make through our low-key phases, our difficult times, our anxious hours.
And the first step is simple: acceptance. To say to yourself, “It is okay to feel this way.”
In fact, those feelings we try to avoid, anxiety, anger, and sadness, are not enemies.
They are coping mechanisms of the body. They are signals from the nervous system designed to keep us safe.
A little stress, for example, can sharpen our focus. But when we blur that line, overload piles up, and our system struggles.
So my dear friends, here’s an invitation: Change the lens through which you look at your emotions.
Instead of fighting them, listen.
Instead of pushing them away, let them be seen.
These emotions are not here to harm you; they are here to protect you, to seek your attention, and once acknowledged, to dissolve and reveal the brighter side of you.

Your practice this week:
The next time you feel low, pause and whisper to yourself, “It’s okay to feel this. I am safe to feel this.”
Notice how your body softens when you no longer resist.
Happiness isn’t about always being “up.” It’s about finding light, even in the low.
With gentleness
