Untamed and Unapologetic

Lessons from Vasuki Taal

Mountains are like beautiful warm hugs
Standing tall, stable, fully firm
Giving us the kind of nonjudgmental support we all crave
They love without asking us to change

Recently, I walked the Vasuki Taal trail
One of the most challenging terrains in the Himalayas
Eight days through rivers, glaciers, boulder fields, rockfall patches, and steep climbs with ropes
Days kissed by full sun
Nights pierced by severe cold
Altitude? Close to 5000 meters

But this was no tourist trek
It was a mirror
A daily test.
Not just of body, but of mind

Every morning, a new height
Every day, a new version of myself, forged by fear and fire

I realized: the more we face our fears, the more liberated we become
Most fears are nothing but fog around the unknown
But on this trek, I met my demons face-to-face
Those inner voices trying to stop me, pull me back
And I walked on anyway

No luxuries. No mirrors. Eight days without seeing my face
Just bare essentials on my back
And that too had to be carried

The lighter I traveled, the freer I felt
And isn't that the hidden teaching?
The emotional and mental baggage we carry through life—most of it is so unnecessary.

To accept ourselves, fully, wildly, and unfiltered, that’s the truest act of self-love
And yes, it’s easier said than done. I’m still on this journey too
Learning to be unapologetically myself, not polished, not perfect
Just like a wild forest flower
I don’t bloom in vases
I bloom where the roots are tangled, where the winds blow free

So here’s my invitation to you:

Stop waiting
Stop perfecting
Stop performing

Just start accepting yourself, as you are, now

Ask yourself: What kind of relationship do I have with myself?

Be wild
Be raw
Be unstructured
Be incorrect
Because who wants to be a flower in a vase, when you’re meant to be the jungle bloom tender, beautiful, fierce

हम तो जंगल के फूल हैं, नाज़ुक भी और सुंदर भी।
तूफ़ान हमारा रहगुज़र भी है और शीतल जल की धारा भी।

With wilderness in my heart
